What is Gamepad Tester?

Gamepad Tester is a free set of browser based tools for checking every part of a game controller, from buttons and sticks to triggers, vibration and connection quality.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Every tool runs directly in your browser using the Gamepad API. Connect your controller and press a button to begin.

Which controllers are supported?

Xbox, PlayStation DualShock and DualSense, Nintendo Switch Pro, and most generic USB or Bluetooth controllers are supported.

Which browser works best?

Chrome, Edge and other Chromium based browsers offer the most complete Gamepad API support. Firefox and Safari work for most tools, though a few features like vibration may be limited.

Is my controller data stored or shared?

No. All readings happen locally in your browser and are not sent to our servers unless you choose to export a report yourself.

Why does my controller show extra unmapped buttons?

Some controllers report more buttons and axes than they physically have because of how the Gamepad API standard mapping works. This is normal and does not indicate a fault.
